It's sitting on my desk connected to a cellular network and wifi. For example, I just tested with a Pixel, recently factory reset and fully updated, so it is "clean". "Allow Find My Device while Location is disabled".Įven when Location is enabled, Find My Device still doesn't always work. They could at least give users an option in the device settings to control this, e.g. If I'm using the service, then I have already signed into the Google account, and I have access to all the Google data including location history, so I don't see a reason to prevent finding the device. You could argue that this is logical, but it completely defeats the purpose if I lose my phone while Location is disabled. It only works if Location is enabled in the device. Google's "Find My Device" service is really bad in my opinion.
